I enjoy participating in this group because it mirrors the larger liberal arts education. My involvement with color as a painter deals mainly with subtractive color interaction and color phenomenology. Every meeting has broadened my understanding of the subject by viewing it through different disciplinary lenses.

As a physicist I am used to thinking about color as an essential physical aspect of how light and matter interact. This perspective only covers a small fraction of what color is. As a curious person I am interested in exploring the diverse ways we experience and understand the world around us. My interest in this group is to broaden my engagement with the concept of color to include its physical, physiological, psychological, cultural, and linguistic dimensions.
